Dry Bathing for Energy Cleansing Exercise from Self Reiki

Reiki is for everyone; all living things. It promotes inner balance and natural healing to alleviate pain, stress, and more.

What is Reiki?

It’s a healing art and spiritual practice founded in Japan by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. By placing hands over the body to share the unseen life force energy that flows through everyone and everything, we use Reiki to heal, reduce stress, and increase relaxation.

Science tells us that all matter is made of atoms—each with a nucleus that is filled with energy. So, at the most basic or quantum level, everything is energy and everything is connected. Reiki healing begins with the idea that when our life force is disrupted, it can affect us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Thoughts, fears, emotions, and experiences can all affect the flow and balance of that force. Self Reiki clears stagnant, negative energy from the energy field around and inside the body; you may sense Reiki in your palms and hold them over the blocked area, or simply breathe in Reiki to channel its life force and rebalance your flow.

Dry Bathing for Energy Cleansing Exercise

This exercise consists of six very swift brushing movements, each accompanied by a short in-breath through the nose. Use it when you feel tired or depleted, before a stressful event such as an interview, and before and after you connect with or share Reiki.

1. Place your right hand on your left shoulder. Inhale through the nose and make a swift diagonal stroke across your body to your right hip. Without exhaling, take another in-breath and sweep your left hand from right shoulder to left hip. Inhale again and repeat the first action.

2. Hold left arm out. Still without exhaling, quickly draw your right hand down your arm. Inhale again and sweep your right arm with your left hand.

3. Take one last nose breath, sweep your left arm again with your right hand. Exhale fully to finish.
