DK Delhi at Bookaroo Srinagar
The Bookaroo Festival is one of the country's leading Children's events, and as expected, hundreds of kids joined in, all eager-eyed and enthusiastic.
Team DK – Kingshuk Ghoshal, Nishwan Rasool, and Zarak Rais – conducted a pair of interactive sessions on Space (called SPACE STATION) for children aged 5–9. Assisted ably by some student volunteers and teachers, the DK team puzzled, excited, and fascinated the kids over the course of the sessions on the weekend.
With Team DK, the children took a wild ride through space – they cracked the SPACE quiz (in which the DK Team was surprised by a Class 1 student who knew all the answers), built their own planet with clay (in which the pieces of art ranged from a multicoloured body dubbed Ultramax to a massive ringed planet without a name), constructed their own rocket out of paper (with many colours and patterns and logos flashing on the rockets), checked out DK spreads with 3D glasses (in what was one of the lead attractions of the DK sessions), and learnt the principles of sky watching with an actual telescope (with which they saw a magnified view of a nearby mountaintop)! And it was not only the kids, but also their parents who loved the energy at the DK stall.
Team DK cannot wait to go back and enjoy with the children in 2024!
