For all of us at DK, these lovely videos tweeted by a Delhi-based educator are a tangible reminder of the impact and necessity of our work. They show how animatedly children express their engagement with our colourful DK books. For one young student, How the Body Works: The Facts Visually Explained is not only a means to nurture his passion for biology and science but also a vehicle to help him realise his dreams. “I want to become a doctor, so this helps me…,” he explains brightly. For another student, it is Rocks and Minerals: The Definitive Visual Guide that excites him. Both students are responding to the vibrancy and detail of our design along with the clarity and simplicity of our language. The videos highlight our tagline ‘For the Curious’ and the dual role that our books play – to inform and to inspire. There is no better motivation to persist with our efforts than to see these principles succeed with our audience!
