Celebrate World Adoption Day

Sharing stories, connecting and reflecting with those touched by adoption.

Every year on November 9th, #WorldAdoptionDay aims to lift up voices in the adoption community by sharing stories, connecting and reflecting with those touched by adoption.

Whilst every adoption story is different, this year for #WorldAdoptionDay, DK are highlighting the title My Family and Other Families. This beautifully illustrated and heartwarming picture book shows children that it's normal for every family to be different and the things that set us apart can bring us closer.

Perfect for children ages 3-5 years old, this book uses bold, colourful illustrations and tells an inspiring message that toddlers and young children will love reading along with their own grown ups, and everyone will enjoy engaging with the powerfully simple message it contains.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Written by popular parenting bloggers and influencers, Two Dads in London, Lewis and Richard Edwards-Middleton, with illustrations by Andy Passchier.

When the married couple adopted their two kids, they decided they wanted to share their own journey through their Two Dads in London blog (https://twodadsinlondon.com/) and Instagram.

After seeing how much their children enjoyed learning through story time, the parents were inspired to write a funny, heartwarming picture book about friends, family and Ferris wheels, spreading the message that all families are equal and unique in their own way.
