The 10th of July was truly an extraordinary day for DK India. Our office didn’t feel like the usual workplace at all. The atmosphere was charged, the air filled with laughter and positive energy, with everyone congregating for a noble cause. Some posed for photographs and shared laughs, while others prepared frenetically for what turned out to be one of the most heartwarming events we’ve had in the recent past.
While the inaugural edition of the Giving Day had set the template, the 2025 event was all about raising the bar. Our Managing Director, Nandan Jha, kickstarted the day with an inspiring speech, followed by an open-mic session where our in-house talent got the opportunity to showcase their abilities to the staff. The crooners and bards among us kept everyone entertained with foot-tapping numbers, drawing out some impromptu performances.
Then, it was time for the most important event of the day – the Grand Fete. Unlike the previous year, it proved difficult to organize the Giving Day outdoors as it fell smack in the middle of the Monsoon season. However, we managed to carve out a space in the food hall, large enough to put in eight stalls, which were allocated to different divisions. There was a little bit of everything – mouthwatering food (from cookies and cakes to healthy salads and pasta), handcrafted goodies (tote bags, pouches, notebooks, coasters, crochet bookmarks, paperweights, and more), and loads of exciting games.
It was a full show, with almost 100 per cent participation. Visitors from the neighboring offices joined in too, adding to the festive buzz and generously contributing to the cause. It must have been our beautiful, handpainted posters that drew them in! A special shoutout to the volunteers who designed them, and to the Operations team, who came together to take charge of a super important task – funds collection! We wrapped up the day by coming back to the office and singing some beautiful songs in the Karaoke bar set up right there.
By the end of the day, not only had we raised a significant amount for our CSR partners, but we also created memories that’ll be cherished for a long time.
