Mitāhāra: Food Wisdom From My Indian Kitchen
Mitāhāra by best-selling author and celebrated nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar launched globally in July this year. The book, a celebration of mindful eating, seasonal living, and India’s rich culinary heritage, contains a collection of carefully curated nourishing, vegetarian recipes from Maharashtra and India’s western coast.
Woven through the book are Rujuta’s philosophy towards food, explorations of indigenous ingredients, and memories of cooking with her family and friends. “The point is to create room in your dil (heart) and dimaag (mind) for not just food and cooking, but for life and living,” says Rujuta. “This book will take you through the seasons; it will remind you of forgotten foods and familiar tastes.”
Mitāhāra combines traditional food wisdom with health, encouraging people to slow down, savour local, seasonal harvest and reconnect with nature’s rhythms. A must-have for both beginners and seasoned cooks, the book is a perfect way to experience the timeless joy of food that is good for the body, calming for the mind, and fulfilling for the soul.
