Brandon Buechley, Associate Editor, DK Alpha
I'm primarily interested in elevating diverse voices and perspectives in all aspects of my work, I am looking to acquire nonfiction titles in the categories of pop culture, journaling, LGBTQ+, film and television, and cooking.
My publishing career began in 2018 when I joined DK as an Editorial Assistant, having previously interned for DAW Books, a science-fiction, fantasy, and horror imprint at Penguin Random House. During my time as Editorial Assistant, I was primarily responsible for revising dated trend-based titles into modernized repackaged editions and managing author and freelancer contracts across the imprint. Having progressed to Assistant Editor and then to Associate Editor, I now acquire frontlist nonfiction titles in the cooking, health and wellness, journaling, LGBTQ+, and travel spaces. My authors include Claudia Regalado, Larry Canam, Gigi Gorgeous & Gottmik, Tom & Rachael Sullivan, Patrick Zeinali, and Hannah Azerang.
In my free time, you can find me reading books in the fantasy, LGBTQ+ fiction, and thriller spaces, visiting my local movie theater, or enjoying the latest Grand Slam tennis matches.
