Once a volcano rising from the sea, the island evolved into a breathtaking combination of rainforest, deserts, plains and mountains. It is home to the Waimea Canyon, the largest canyon in the Pacific, and the Nā Pali Coast, featuring jungle-clad cliffs rising sharply from the dark blue sea.
Kaua'i is an intriguing place, created by the immense forces of nature, and is still subject to them. Hollywood agrees and has used the unruly, primeval landscape as a backdrop in several films, including King Kong and Jurassic World.
The mountains, canyons and beaches, especially on the Nā Pali Coast, are truly unique. To get a spectacular sea view, join a kayak tour and paddle round until the Nā Pali cliffs rear high above you. As you glide through the water you’ll be confronted with the same breathtaking spectacle the first Polynesians saw when they stumbled upon this natural paradise.
