60 Seconds with Jay Franco, Author of Be More Boba Fett

File Name

We caught up with Star Wars™ Be More Boba Fett author, Jay Franco, to ask him about his Star Wars™ opinions and writing style. Get to know him better with this rapid 60-second interview.

What three words do you think best describe Boba Fett?

SKILLED...DEADLY...INFAMOUS

What’s your favorite writing snack?

Although I love all the snacks, I’d have to go with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups as my favorite…I treat them as a reward for a job well done.

Favorite piece of advice in Be More Boba Fett?

BIDE YOUR TIME…There are times to fight but sometimes it comes down to knowing when not to fight.

Do you work best in the morning or evening?

I am a late-night tinkerer; I love to dig into a project when the rest of the world has gone to sleep.

Would you rather: marathon the original trilogy, the prequels, or the sequels?

For me it has always been the original trilogies first. That’s how I saw it, that’s how I introduced it to my son. The rest is great but comes after.

Realistically, what job would you have in the Star Wars universe? Dream job?

Realistically I’d be somewhere between a scrapper (like Rey) and a junk dealer (like Watto). IRL I love rebuilding old bicycles, and that skill would likely put me in this field, and I’m probably too tall to be a Jawa. Dream job...bounty hunter, of course.

Favorite Star Wars creature or droid?

IG-88 is—hands down—my favorite droid. I still remember getting the action figure when The Empire Strikes Back came out, and I loved that he was a droid-turned-bounty hunter. I love seeing his kind reappear in season 1 of The Mandalorian in IG-11.

What planet in the Star Wars galaxy would you choose to live on, if you could?

Tatooine—you know it seems like a random desert-planet in the middle of nowhere, but when I think back on it, a lot of action took place there.
