“I PARTICULARLY ENJOY BOOKS THAT CHALLENGE OR UPEND THE TRADITIONAL BOUNDARIES OF THEIR GENRE.”

Ause Abdelhaq, Senior Commissioning Editor, August Books

My expertise is in crafting pacy and accessible narrative non-fiction, with my speciality genres including sport, exposé, true crime, business and memoir. I particularly enjoy books that challenge or upend the traditional boundaries of their genre.

I have worked across a broad range of non-fiction in my career, publishing numerous Sunday Times and New York Times bestsellers, including the 2024 Financial Times and Schroeder's Business Book of the Year, Supremacy by Parmy Olson.

I have been lucky enough to work with several high-profile authors, including Olympic heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, NBA All-Star Steph Curry, Times Technology Business Editor Katie Prescott, Swedish bestselling investigative journalist Jan Stocklassa, YouTube sensation Tom Scott and England rugby legend Ben Youngs. I will continue to commission across sport, true crime, puzzle and broad narrative non-fiction.

A book I’m proud of…

A book I'm proud to have published is The Eyes of Gaza by Plestia Alaqad, a powerful and emotive diary/memoir from a 21-year-old Palestinian journalist experiencing the Israeli genocide first-hand, which debuted on the New York Times bestseller list.

A book I wish I'd published...

As a keen puzzler, I will forever rue that I was not acquiring when Murdle by G.T. Karber was on submission but, given my love of a good financial fraud story, the book I most wish I’d had the chance to publish is The Smartest Guys in the Room, Bethany McLean’s piercing exposé of Enron.
