DK LIFE
The books I am most drawn to as an editor – and as a reader – are books that teach us something about ourselves and the world around us; books that have the potential to change the reader’s life in a big or small way.
I’m on the look-out for authors and books to publish with passion: ground-breaking popular psychology, upmarket self-improvement/personal development, health and wellness, and beautifully crafted memoirs with a clear wellbeing angle. I would love to hear about authors who bring an audience with them, and I am particularly keen to publish expert-led books. Platform, profile and personal connections are equally important.
A book I‘m proud of…
How to Make Your Brain Your Best Friend is a guide to the most remarkable thing in the known universe: the brain. It looks at how our brains are designed to protect us but can sometimes seem to work against us. It’s superbly written by neuroscientist Rachel Barr, a brilliant communicator and trusted expert with an audience of over a million on Instagram alone. It was an instant Irish Times and Globe and Mail bestseller on publication.

Books I wish I'd published...
Books I would love to have published on the DK RED list include Wintering by Katherine May, Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman, Wim Hof's The Wim Hof Method, Quiet by Susan Cain, A Beginner's Guide to Dying by Simon Boas, and Want by Gillian Anderson.
